ICYMI: AG GROUPS AND AIRLINES MAKE CASE FOR SAF IN OHIO
Samantha Dravis, executive director of ACAF, detailed the cross-industry support for transitioning from traditional to sustainable aviation fuels
In Case You Missed It: Earlier this week, Samantha Dravis, Executive Director of Americans for Clean Aviation Fuels Coalition (ACAF), highlighted the alignment between competing industries, including oil and gas, biofuels and agriculture, to scale the sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) market at the Ohio Association Annual Conference. Joining Dravis on the panel was ACAF member and Ohio Soybean Association Deputy Executive Director Brandon Kern. Ronnie Powell, Vice President at Everest Fuels and the Chief Operations Officer of Sustainability and Nancy Bsales of 4Air also participated in the Traditional and Sustainable Aviation Fuelpanel exploring the transition from traditional to SAF.
“We need a long-term plan that supports the growth of clean aviation fuels across the United States,” Dravis said.“As a coalition, we have brought together stakeholders committed to forging new pathways, as well as, protecting current policies that give farmers an entry point into the market and allow this transition to take place.”
Building a strong SAF market will aid America’s energy independence goals – while giving a much-needed shot in the arm to our farmers and producers. However, the proper regulatory framework and policies are needed to get SAF off the ground, including protecting the 45Z Clean Fuel Production Credit.
ACAF members represent the full value chain, including Delta Air Lines, Airbus, Growth Energy, ExxonMobil, POET, Airlines for America, National Business Aviation Association, Corteva, Indiana Soybean Alliance, Iowa Soybean Association, Missouri Soybeans, Ohio Soybean Council, BP, Rolls-Royce, Natural State Renewables, the American Carbon Alliance, Summit Agricultural Group, Renew Kansas and the Corn Marketing Program of Michigan.
