[WASHINGTON, D.C.] — Americans for Clean Aviation Fuels (ACAF) States Director Nick Boeyink released the following statement regarding today’s clarifying guidance from the U.S. Department of the Treasury that should help advance the market for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in the U.S.
“ACAF welcomes the Administration’s clarifying guidance that an updated GREET model will be one of the acceptable methods for measuring lifecycle GHG emissions to take advantage of the SAF Blenders Tax Credit – a potential win-win for American farmers, the economy and the environment. We look forward to reviewing the updated model on March 1st. With the right policies in place, SAF can become a homegrown energy source that harnesses the economic power of America’s fields and farmers, while ensuring domestic energy security, and reducing emissions in the aviation sector."
